Exporting Data Files to Microsoft Excel

Data collected and warehoused at WWW.surveyz.com may be downloaded and stored on your computer, where it can be archived, or used in additional analysis using programs like SPSS or SAS. We encourage you to download your data at least weekly so that you have a copy of your data on your machine.

Data files are exported as CSV (comma separated variable) that are recognized by and can be opened directly into Excel. The CSV data export facility is found in the View Results page of the builder.

1. Click on the blue "View Results" tab and then
2. Click on the "Export Data" tab

The data file will be created and an icon will appear in the box titled "Previous Data Downloads and Exports".

3. Click on this icon and the data will be downloaded to your computer. Depending on your computer's settings, it will either be opened directly into Excel, or you will have the option to "Save" or "Open" it. If the data file appears in your browser as an HTML file, then right click (click with your right mouse button) on the icon and select "Save Target as" and save the file to your computer. You will then be able to open it from Excel.

Because generation of a the "download data file" requires considerable disk space (especially for large data sets), the download files are kept on the system for only 30 days. Your original data set is different from this download data file and your original data will still be maintained as long as your account is active.
